Dominic's IRONMAN Challenge

17
September 2021

Dominic Mears is a junior doctor working in the West Midlands and occasionally does the odd marathon.

Dominic completed the IRONMAN Hamburg Triathlon in August and raised an incredible £2345 in memory of his father, Tim Mears. The challenging event involved a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and a 26 mile run which took almost 15 hours to complete.

Tim very sadly passed away from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2016 at the age of just 58. He is sorely missed everyday by his wife and three children and life has truly never been the same without him. His untimely passing serves as a harrowing example of the devastating consequences of pulmonary fibrosis and the requisite need for more research and better treatments for it.

'This charity does such fantastic work raising awareness of the disease, supporting those living with pulmonary fibrosis and funding important research. The wonderful generosity shown by everyone who donated really was appreciated and I am extremely grateful for the support'.

Thank you so much Dominic. Could you get involved in a challenge event? Please get in touch and we will help you all the way. Fundraising@actionpf.org
