A brand-new pulmonary fibrosis support group has been successfully launched in North Cumbria.

Sara Mason, senior oxygen nurse at Wigton Community Hospital, has worked hard with the support of Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis to set up the group while still working with the COVID restrictions.  Their first meeting took place on 27th May at the Wigton hospital where they heard from two invited speakers and allowed Sara to take their photograph.

Sara said, ‘It went really well. Loads of input from the patients/ family members and we were supported by Sue Hogg from West Cumbria Carers and Jayne Povey from health and wellbeing service.

Well done to Sara. If you are interested in attending one of Sara’s groups, which will be held monthly on the last Friday of the month, then contact her for further information. sara.mason@ncic.nhs.uk
