What began as a handful of calls has become a lifeline for thousands of people—and the need is only growing. Since 2022, the number of calls to our support line has increased by more than 500%, as more people living with a terminal illness reach out in urgent need of support.
‘There is never such a thing as a quick call, but we’ve seen a real rise in the complexity and urgency of the calls in recent months,’ Pauline, our support line manager, says. She continues:
We are called by people who are truly desperate and need advice there and then; they can’t afford to wait.
Our services team now help over 15,000 people every year, across the country, from our support line to our telephone befriending scheme, our support groups and webinars.
But with 12,000 people currently being newly diagnosed with PF every year, and this number set to rise due to changes in NHS screening protocols, we anticipate even further increases in demand for our services.
Please help us to meet the growing demand
